		<description>i know i went into great detail with this in the next posting, so I&#039;ll keep it short. 

I think one reason the US might retaliate so insanely is because of the specific country being attacked. From purely a US standpoint, they are indeed our staunchest ally in the area, and a massive recipient of US foreign aid. The US and Israel have a complex history, and in general, when an ally is attacked, support or retaliation from the other ally is kind of expected. at least that&#039;s what i think.  these are just my feelings on the situation specifically, as i believe any discussion on the middle east is probably insufficient unless at least an hour is spent on it :)

(and personally, even with a threat to US soil, I do NOT believe &lt;i&gt;obliteration&lt;/i&gt; of a nation/people is ever warranted.)</description>
