Flying in? Reno/Tahoe International Airport is less than an hour away from Sand Harbor. Southwest has the most options, but Delta, American, Alaskan and others have several daily flights as well.
Once you’re in the area, Sand Harbor is 20 miles south of Truckee, California and 30 miles west of Reno, Nevada. You can get there from Interstate 80 (east or west) by going south on Highway 267, then east on Highway 28 around Lake Tahoe. If you flew into Reno or are driving in from the east, you can take I-580/Highway 395 south to Mt. Rose Highway (Highway 431), then south on Highway 28 to Sand Harbor.
Mt. Rose highway is a very scenic drive and takes you over the highest year-round pass in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The views of Lake Tahoe are amazing once you get over the summit.
